Dressed in their best traditional Chinese costumes, the children at ELFA Preschool @ Serangoon<\/span> kicked off their Mid-Autumn Festival celebration on 1 October with a lantern parade around the centre.<\/p>\n<\/div>

It was followed by a story-telling session where the teachers shared the legendary story of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Putting their learning into action, the children made rabbit lanterns, rabbit crowns and other crafts to commemorate the festival.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Immersed in the cultural day, the children got to enjoy the tradition of eating mooncakes and drinking tea as they celebrate their friendship. The teachers also conducted a tea appreciation ceremony to explain the steps behind the traditional Chinese tea brewing and savour the taste of their tea.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The highlight of the day was having the children learning to make their own snow-skin mooncakes by rolling the dough, putting them in moulds and filling them with red bean paste. And the prize? They brought their self-made mooncakes home to share with their families.<\/p>\n<\/div>
