On 8 August 2025, our little stars at ELFA Preschool @ Hougang and Jurong East<\/strong> came dressed in red and white.\u00a0 They radiated pride, joy, and excitement as they celebrated Singapore\u2019s 60th<\/sup> National Day.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Children at ELFA Preschool @ Hougang kick off the day with a heartwarming, nostalgic breakfast<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>

At Hougang, the day started with a nostalgic breakfast of kaya butter toast and fresh milk with a twist. Their breakfast came in takeaway bags which we fondly called \u2018dabao\/\u6253\u5305\u2019 bags in Singapore.\u00a0 The children\u2019s eyes sparkled as they tasted a slice of Singapore\u2019s heritage.<\/p>\n<\/div>

At Jurong East, children proudly sang the National Anthem and recited the National Pledge.
\nEven our youngest learners understood the meaning of unity and love for the nation.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Our children exploring Singapore\u2019s history through fun and engaging activities<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>

Storytelling sessions brought Singapore\u2019s history to life. Our children learned how Singapore became independent in 1965 and grew into a vibrant, modern city. They eagerly shared their thoughts, making the stories lively and engaging.<\/p>\n

The celebrations continued with laughter, creativity, and energy. At Hougang, children danced to SG Active\u2019s \u201cHere We Are\u201d and other National Day favourites.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Delicious National Day-themed cookies, baked with love and care<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>

They crafted Heart SG cookies with care and love. Singapore-themed games like puzzles and the eraser game filled the morning with fun. A mini \u2018kacang puteh\u2019 stall allowed children to enjoy nostalgic treats with better food hygiene than back in the days.<\/p>\n

At Jurong East, the highlight was the Mini National Day Parade.
\nChildren marched proudly with mini flags, singing classics like \u201cHere We Are\u201d and \u201cCount on Me Singapore.\u201d They performed a delightful musical skit celebrating everyday heroes, from hawker aunties to MRT uncles.<\/p>\n<\/div>

It was a day filled with pride, laughter, learning, and love for Singapore.
\nA huge thank you to our educators, parents, and little ones<\/strong> for making this day special.
