At ELFA, we take great pride in teaching our children to appreciate the workers of various roles around us. Indeed, without their hard work, we would not be able to enjoy many of the things we have in our daily lives. For Labour Day this year, we specially curated activities for our children to highlight the importance of showing our gratitude to these workers for their contributions. Read on below to find out more about how ELFA celebrated Labour Day 2024!
Appreciating The Workers In Preschool
Children of ELFA Chinese Preschool @ Pandan Valley put on their chefs’ hats to show their gratitude for our cook in school. Our cook plays an integral role of ensuring delicious, nutritious meals for our children to enjoy in school. For Labour Day however, our children worked together to prepare scrumptious scrambled eggs for her instead! Under our educators’ careful supervision, they carefully cracked eggs, mixed milk, salt and pepper, and gave it a good beating before frying it up for our cook to enjoy. She was all smiles, expressing her delight at the sweet gesture of the children.
Our cleaning aunty also enjoyed a well-deserved day off as our children took cleaning responsibilities upon themselves. Children of ELFA Chinese Preschool @ Pandan Valley toiled together to wipe and clean their own toys, as well as the tables and chairs in school. Our cleaning aunty was delighted by their efforts, even posing with the children for photos!
Heartfelt Handwritten Cards For Our Beloved Educators
For ELFA Preschool @ Hougang, they took this Labour Day to show their appreciation for their educators who work tirelessly to care for and educate them. They prepared their very own cards filled with touching messages to thank their educators for their efforts. They then presented these cards to their educators, taking photos with their educators alongside their prized cards!
Children of ELFA Chinese Preschool @ Pandan Valley also prepared handwritten cards for their educators. They presented these cards to their educators, and even prepared a short sweet speech for their educators to reinforce their gratitude for them.
We had great fun inculcating in our children the importance of showing our gratitude for the workers around us. From ELFA Preschool, thank you to all the workers who enable us to enjoy a spectrum of things on a day-to-day basis in school, work, and at home. Look out for next year’s Labour Day as we prepare even more fun, educational activities to teach our children on the need to appreciate the efforts of our workers. Till then!
