National Day is more than a celebration at ELFA Preschool. It is an opportunity for children to learn about Singapore, appreciate their community and develop a stronger sense of belonging to the place they call home.

This year, children across our three ELFA Preschools marked Singapore’s 61st National Day through creative activities, movement and community experiences. Through these experiences they explored Singapore’s heritage while building confidence, teamwork and a sense of togetherness.

Learning About Singapore Through Play

At ELFA Preschool @ Hougang, children explored Singapore’s landmarks and national symbols through music, dance and red-and-white-themed games. They also took their celebrations beyond the centre when they performed at the Paya Lebar National Day Carnival at Kovan Hub.

Our children delighted the community with a vibrant and energetic performance comprising a remix of GetActive! Singapore songs.

The experience gave them an opportunity to step beyond their comfort zones, share their talents and celebrate Singapore’s birthday with the wider community.

Growing Through Meaningful Experiences

At ELFA Preschool @ Jurong East, children created National Day artworks, recited the National Pledge and danced to National Day songs.

They also explored gardening in the centre’s garden. As they cared for the plants, children learned how small actions can contribute to a greener environment. The hands-on experience also encouraged teamwork, responsibility and respect for nature.

Celebrating Together as a Community

At ELFA Preschool @ Tampines, children participated in an energetic workout session led by a parent of a nursery child.

Through stretching, dancing and movement, children learned about the importance of staying active while enjoying a shared National Day experience. The session also reflected ELFA Preschool’s partnership with parents in supporting our children’s holistic learning.

More Than a Celebration

Across the three centres, National Day provided meaningful opportunities for children to learn, participate and connect with their community.

Through play, creativity, movement and shared experiences, the children developed confidence, teamwork and a deeper appreciation for the community they are in.
