Getting their fingers sticky and wet or simply sweating it out, children turned stall holders to sell food and drink, and games, at the Elfa Preschool (Serangoon) annual Family Carnival on 14 June 2019.

To provide family support, parents of the K1 and K2 children were roped in to adopt the “stalls”. The activities gave the children excellent opportunity to learn what it was like “running their own business”.

Teachers observed that the children showed confidence in running their booths and using their Maths skills when they had to give change for the money they received.

The carnival raised more than $1,000, which was designated for donation to the ARC children centre, which provides children with terminal illness with a joyful and healthy learning and growing environment.
