The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many changes in our lives. Unfortunately for some, it has cast dark clouds and shaped a gloomy outlook. Determined to make a positive difference in the lives of others, our little gems at ELFA dispelled those dark clouds for the critically ill, through the annual Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) initiative.

SSDB is a President’s Challenge initiative that aims to encourage and inculcate good values to preschoolers and encourage them to give back to society. Aligning with this year’s theme on Kindness, ELFA hopes to inspire our young ones to cultivate the habit of giving through simple everyday acts of care and empathy.

Our Nursery and Kindergarten 1 children expressed their love and care for their peers who were less fortunate through an existing partnership with ARC Children’s Centre (ARC CC). ARC CC is a social service organisation that is dedicated to enriching the daily lives of children who are braving life-threatening illnesses, and their families. Our teachers and children banded together to pack over 50 care packs for the ARC children, as well as the ARC staff and volunteers. The care packs contained essential items such as reusable masks, snacks, packet drinks, and stationery.

Our children and teachers created beautiful care pack designs to bring cheer to the Arc children.

Our care packs are all done up and ready to go!

Thank you children, for helping to load the care packs!

The Arc children were all smiles as they received the care packs made with love by our ELFA children.

Kindness towards one another goes a long way, especially so during this trying period. We hope our children will continue to spread kindness wherever they are, to make the world a better place.
