This October, ELFA Preschools were filled with smiles, music, and glowing lanterns as our children celebrated Children’s Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival. While each centre celebrated in its own way, each celebration reflected the same ELFA spirit — where learning, culture, and joy come together beautifully.
A Double Celebration at ELFA Preschool @ Jurong East
At ELFA Jurong East, the day was extra special as the fun of Children’s Day met the tradition of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The morning was filled with heart-warming performances as our little stars took the stage with confidence, spreading laughter and pride throughout the hall.

Parent–Child Lantern Making
Families joined in hands-on festive activities — decorating mooncakes, crafting colourful lanterns, and playing traditional games. As dusk fell, a gentle glow filled the air during the lantern walk, where families strolled together under the evening sky. It was a touching reminder of togetherness and love.

Through these joyful experiences, children did not just celebrate — they also learned the values behind Chinese traditions. They discovered how the Mid-Autumn Festival symbolises reunion, gratitude, and harmony.
Discovering Culture at ELFA Preschool @ Hougang
At ELFA Hougang, the Mid-Autumn Festival was a meaningful journey into Chinese culture. Through stories, songs, and hands-on activities, children discovered the legend of Chang’e and learned about the symbolism behind mooncakes and pomelos — symbols of good fortune and blessings.

Getting creative: our little one decorating his lantern!
Their voices filled the air as they sang “Yue Liang Yuan Lai Tuan Yuan” (“The Moon Represents Reunion”), celebrating the warmth of family and connection. Using simple materials like chopsticks and tracing paper, they crafted their own lanterns — glowing creations that reflected both creativity and cultural appreciation.
Learning Culture Through Joy
At ELFA, every festival is a classroom — where children learn about culture, express creativity, and experience the warmth of community. Through stories, art, and family bonding, our little ones discover that learning Chinese culture can be both meaningful and fun.
