During the ‘Circuit Breaker’ period, close to 200 staff from ELFA and its sister brand Kinderland, were involved in the sewing of reusable cloth masks for young children. The initiative, in collaboration with Masks Sewn With Love (MSWL), was carried out to address a pressing need due to a low supply of small-sized masks suitable for this vulnerable group. Additionally, it was also to prepare ahead for the reopening of school, where wearing of masks subsequently become mandatory.

Our staff were split into three teams, with a specific role each – mask cutting, mask sewing and mask finishing. Even though our staff were either working from home or teaching at the centres, they rolled up their sleeves and managed to sew a total of 1600 masks, of which 500 pieces were donated to MSWL for children below the age of five.

Our staff took heart in learning how to sew masks for our children

A total of 1,100 pieces were then distributed to our children as part of the care pack when they returned to school. Our parents and children were delighted with this lovely surprise, as the children wore the masks made by our staff!

Every cut and stitch signifies the love from our ELFA team

The spirit of generosity and dedication from our ELFA staff were commendable, and we appreciate all of them for their contribution to a good cause!
