Supporting growth from crib to toddler

Let your little one blossom with ELFA!

Choosing an infant care centre is one of the biggest decisions for new parents. Families often look for more than just a safe space — they want a setting where babies can explore, develop, and feel supported. ELFA Preschool focuses on holistic care, addressing physical, emotional, and early learning needs while building a strong foundation in language for infants and toddlers.

A Safe, Supportive Environment

ELFA’s Infant and Toddler Programme welcomes babies aged 2 to 18 months. Centres such as Hougang and Jurong East are thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, encourage exploration, and ensure safety at every corner.

To safeguard children’s health, ELFA goes the extra mile to maintain a clean and hygienic environment. High-touch surfaces are disinfected three times a day, toys are sanitized after every use, and air purifiers with UVC lights operate throughout the centre. Parents can have peace of mind knowing their little ones are cared for in a safe, well-maintained space.

All our ELFA centers are equipped with air purifiers and UVC light to ensure a cleaner, healthier environment for children. These measures help create a safe space where kids can thrive and play. Your child’s well-being is our top priority.

Educators are also highly trained in early childhood education and bilingual in English and Mandarin. Each child receives personalised attention and support through daily routines and developmental milestones. Warm, consistent interactions with caregivers nurture social skills, build confidence, and lay the foundation for early speech and communication.

Early Learning Experiences

Even for very young children, daily interactions can support development. Activities at ELFA focus on sensory exploration, movement, music, and storytelling, helping infants develop coordination, curiosity, and early communication skills.

Infants and toddlers build connections of the world they are in through visual, auditory, tactile and olfactory sensory input

The curriculum, developed by early childhood specialists from Singapore and China and guided by Professor Zhu Shi Yuan, includes four main developmental areas:

Safe and specially designed environment promotes sensory-motor development

  • Sensory-Motor Development: exploring textures, sounds, and movement to support gross and fine motor skills.
  • Language & Cognitive Growth: exposure to English and Mandarin through songs, stories, and routines.
  • Creative Stimulation: engaging visuals, sounds, and textures encourage exploration and imagination.
  • Social & Emotional Connection: responsive educators support secure relationships and emotional wellbeing.

Physical and Emotional Wellbeing

A calm environment with regular naps, meals, and gentle interactions supports both physical growth and emotional regulation.

Healthy growth begins with good nourishment. At ELFA, an in-house nutritionist carefully plans every meal to fuel both brain and body, giving little ones the balanced nutrition they need to thrive.

Bilingual Exposure

The first years are an important period for language development. Infants are introduced to English and Mandarin in daily routines, songs, and simple storytelling. This early exposure helps with attention, memory, and cognitive flexibility. Children also begin to experience elements of Chinese culture through age-appropriate activities and celebrations.

At ELFA, we proactively expose our infants to bilingualism from a young age

Working with Families

Our parenting mobile app, HavParent, allows regular updates and parent-teacher collaboration between teachers and parents

Parents are involved in their child’s development. Educators share observations and milestones with families and maintain regular communication. Parents can also arrange centre visits and meet educators to understand daily routines and care practices.

Overview

ELFA’s Infant and Toddler Programme supports growth across multiple areas: physical, social, emotional, and cognitive. By providing a structured yet flexible environment, infants have opportunities to explore and develop foundational skills for later learning.
